MEET TAYLOR
BH CO-FOUNDER
Born and raised in Atlanta, Taylor has always found joy in movement—first through sports and outdoor adventures, and now through helping women rediscover strength and fullness in Christ. What began as a simple love for athleticism grew into a calling that carried her around the world studying and advocating for health, and ultimately back home to build a community where fitness and faith intersect.
Taylor’s journey with Jesus began in high school at a Young Life summer camp where she was introduced to the idea of walking in relationship with the Father rather than relying on works and legalism. There, she radically encountered His love and surrendered her life to Jesus. That moment marked the beginning of a lifelong walk of faith. Since then, she has served in ministry leadership roles and received training in prophetic ministry, intercession, deliverance, and inner healing. These experiences not only deepened her relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but also equipped her to walk with others in their own healing journeys—spirit, soul, and body.
Taylor earned her degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech, a master’s in Global Health from Duke University, and holds certifications as a NASM personal trainer and OPEX CCP coach. More than any credential, Taylor carries a deep passion for women living in the fullness of Christ. She yearns for His daughters to see their entire bodies as sacred—gifts from God that are worth honoring, caring for, and stewarding as holy temples of His presence.

Taylor's own health journey has been central to her passions. In her early twenties, she was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), a condition that brought seasons of hormonal imbalance, abnormal weight gain, and feeling like a stranger within her own body. During that time, she wrestled with the tension of wanting to feel confident and comfortable in her skin while navigating symptoms that felt out of her control.
Over time—with prayer, perseverance, and the support of intentional rhythms of exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments—Taylor began to find balance again. She progressively experienced the outward fruit of her inward transformation and healing. It wasn’t about perfection, but about stepping into a steady path of peace and wholeness.
While in college, the Lord stirred in Taylor a deep, specific passion to serve victims and survivors of trafficking and violence—one that led her to pursue a master’s degree in Global Health with a focus in intimate partner violence.
Years later, when Taylor walked through the trauma of an assault herself, God's calling on her life took on even greater depth and empathy. In that season, movement became something far more than physical; it became a lifeline and form of therapy. Strength training offered her a way to reclaim her body, restore dignity and confidence, and encounter God’s presence, peace, and power in tangible ways.
As a survivor, Taylor has had the opportunity to train other women who have overcome various forms of trauma, violence and exploitation. Through her experience, she has a deep conviction that movement can be a powerful instrument of healing, especially for women who long to feel safe, strong, and at home again within themselves.

Strength training offered her a way to reclaim her body, restore dignity, & encounter God’s presence, peace, and power in tangible ways.

This passion now fuels her mission at Built Holy: To create spaces where women can train with purpose, rediscover their unshakable identity in Christ, and walk in the authority and truth that they are loved, strong, and never alone. Taylor longs for every woman to overcome all fear, pain, and trauma of their past — knowing they aren't defined by what they've done or what's been done to them — and to ultimately experience the restoration and healing power of Jesus Christ.
When she's not coaching or training, you’ll likely find Taylor hiking local trails, savoring her morning coffee, serving at her local church, or building community through fitness, ministry, and fellowship.

MEET EMILY
BH CO-FOUNDER
From a childhood spent flipping across gymnastics floors and competing on the soccer field at the Division II level, to later finding joy in bouldering, hiking, and lifting — movement has always been woven into Emily’s story.
But in 2014, her life was turned upside down. Debilitating digestive issues shook her foundation and impacted not only her body, but also her mind and spirit. What once felt like a strong, vibrant life quickly unraveled into years of pain and exhaustion. Exercise was reduced to simple walks, and she often felt like a stranger in her own body. For the first time, she battled depression and anxiety, along with questions she never thought she’d wrestle with: Are God’s promises really true? How could this possibly be His plan? How can I live out my calling when I can barely get out of bed?
Emily grew up knowing about God, but it wasn’t until college that her faith became personal. Through campus ministry and discipleship, she began a genuine relationship with Him and eventually felt called into full-time ministry. She spent the next decade in sports ministry, mentoring college athletes and learning how to help others grow in their faith. About three years ago, God deepened her journey through deliverance and healing, freeing her from spiritual strongholds and teaching her to walk in greater intimacy with Him. Since then, she’s learned what it means to live a life formed by spiritual rhythms, holiness, and community — and she now brings that same freedom and depth to the women she coaches.
Her healing journey stretched far longer than she ever imagined. Along the way, Emily faced significant health battles, including being diagnosed with endometriosis, which led to infertility, as well as an array of gut issues. Over the course of more than a decade, she pressed forward through trial and error, pursuing restoration through holistic nutrition, lifestyle changes, guidance from naturopathic doctors, and—most importantly—renewing her mind and breaking free from spiritual strongholds. Healing wasn’t quick or linear, but it was transformative. Slowly, strength returned. Slowly, light broke through the dark. And slowly, she discovered that perseverance and faith could carry her where sheer willpower never could.

The battle with infertility ultimately led Emily and her husband to adoption — a journey that has become one of the greatest blessings of her life. Through it, she’s seen God’s redemption and faithfulness in ways she never expected, and it continues to shape how she loves, leads, and lives out her calling.
Even now, Emily will tell you she hasn’t “arrived.” She still battles setbacks and pain—but at a fraction of what it once was. The difference is night and day. Today, she feels like she’s gotten her life back, and with it, a renewed sense of purpose and calling.
Those hard-won lessons are now at the heart of her mission: to help others fight for their health and wholeness. With deep empathy and lived experience, Emily equips women to steward their bodies well, embrace the ups and downs of healing, and build sustainable rhythms of strength — physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Emily holds a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science, is certified in Precision Nutrition Level 1, and has completed the OPEX Coaching Certificate Program (CCP). Her education, paired with her own journey, fuels her calling to walk alongside women as they overcome setbacks, rediscover their strength, and step into lasting freedom.
Emily and her husband, Nick, have been together since 2016 and are approaching their 10th year of marriage. When she’s not coaching, you’ll find her adventuring with their two sweet adopted kiddos, Ari and Leon, exploring national parks, or doing life and ministry with her family.
TOGETHER
Taylor (31) & Emily (34) first met while working at a local non-profit gym in Atlanta. What began as co-workers quickly grew into a friendship rooted in shared passions—training side by side, serving in ministry together, and discovering how closely their callings aligned.
Both women carry a deep love for movement and a conviction that health goes beyond physical strength, encompassing wholeness of spirit, soul and body. Emily’s journey through chronic illness gave her a heart for walking alongside women facing unseen struggles, while Taylor’s experience working with survivors and walking through her own assault ignited her passion for helping women reclaim their bodies as places of dignity and healing.

Taylor: Perfection isn’t purpose. Your worth was secured on the cross, not earned through performance. Live and love from peace, not guilt or striving. Remember that God’s grace is always sufficient where you fall short.
-
Emily: Urgency can create a false sense that you have to act right away, but that pressure often comes from emotion, not clarity. Slowing down gives space for peace and perspective — and the right choice usually becomes clearer when you’re not rushing.
